Students' preferences in choosing physical education and sports activities
Aleksandr SergeevThe purpose of the study is to examine students' preferences regarding sports and systems of physical exercises on the basis of which they would like to master the discipline "Physical Education," and to propose approaches for applying the obtained data in practice when organizing physical education at a university. Research methods and organization. A sociological survey was conducted by the method of an online questionnaire among first-year students of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The structuring and analysis of responses were carried out using spreadsheet software tools. Methods of comparative analysis and mathematical statistics formed the basis of the results and conclusions of the study. Research results and conclusions. Types of sports and systems of physical exercises were identified, on the basis of which classes, in the case of the availability of corresponding opportunities at the university, would be most in demand among students. It is shown that the priorities of the majority of students, both female and male, are concentrated around four preferences. The main priorities of female students are shifted toward classes based on systems of physical exercises (yoga, gym), while those of male students are shifted toward classes based on types of sports (football, volleyball). An approach is proposed that allows the identified priorities of students to be taken into account when designing the educational process in physical education at a university.
