Naimah Nasser Abdulaziz Alhumaidhi

Study aims to identify strategies for dealing with overuse of artificial intelligence applications among postgraduate students in Saudi universities: an analytical of its academic impacts and proposed solutions, adopted a descriptive-analytical approach by administering a questionnaire to a sample of (327) male, female postgraduate students from (Al-Jouf, Taibah, Najran, Shaqra) universities. The results showed that level of prevalence of the overuse of artificial intelligence applications among postgraduate students was moderate. The motivations behind this excessive use were high, particularly concerning saving time and ease of access to information. Level of academic and behavioral impacts resulting from this overuse was generally low, although there was an awareness of its effect on confidence in creative abilities and critical thinking. Perceptions regarding ethical use and the regulation of academic conduct were moderate, with instances of using applications without verifying sources. Level of proposed strategies for regulating use was low. Furthermore, the study did not reveal any statistically significant differences in the level of overuse based on the variables of gender and university. Recommends that Saudi universities develop and implement comprehensive strategies to promote the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence applications while maintaining the quality of education and academic integrity.
