Abstract

Significant advancements in current stellar populations synthesis models are needed to enhance their ability to perform detailed spectroscopic analyses. Key improvements include incorporating varying abundance ratios through multiple approaches, such as utilizing empirical stellar spectra and applying theoretical differential corrections to account for abundance ratio variations. The development of spectral libraries with controlled abundance variations, offers a more robust framework for modeling non-solar chemical compositions in unresolved stellar populations. Additionally, extending stellar populations models beyond the optical range into the near-infrared is crucial for studying young stellar populations and galaxies at varying redshift. These advancements will provide more precise diagnostic tools for interpreting the wealth of observational data expected from upcoming large-scale spectroscopic surveys, ultimately refining our understanding of galaxy evolution and chemical enrichment processes.
