SoPiEL Dialogue, Method, and Change

This chapter sets out the methodology of the Sociology of Peace in Everyday Life (SoPiEL) as dialogue, method, and change. It clarifies the role of dialogue as pedagogy and outlines how the four SoPiEL components (Everyday Peace Concepts, Peace Affirming Tactics, Peace Limit Situations, and Self Representation and Advocacy Tactics) interact. The chapter then explains how, within SoPiEL, dialogue operates as an adaptive approach that co-produces and analyses peace.
