Social and Humanitarian Research of the Russian Far East (2001–2025): A Bibliometric Review

This article presents a bibliometric landscape of the status and trends of historical, economic, political, and sociological research of the Russian Far East (RFE) in the first quarter of the 21st century. Using Russian Science Citation Index data, the author analyzes aggregated parameters of 18 thousand publications on the RFE, examines their institutional and geographic structure, objects, problems, theoretical and methodological content, and assesses their impact on other fields of scholarship. The author identifies a connection between the long-term dynamics of research of the RFE, Russia’s Turn to the East and the formation of a system of development institutions in the macroregion.
