„so vielseitig als möglich“ – die Grimms als Editoren in den Altdeutschen Wäldern
Simone LoleitAbstract
During the years 1813–1816 Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm published the journal Altdeutsche Wälder ( Old German Forests ), mainly as a means to disseminate their research results. In line with the agenda of the alluded ‘silvae’ tradition, the three volumes of the magazine include a wide variety of topics; the focus being editions of Old German sources in order to save and promulgate them. Examining the working methods and the role of the Brothers Grimm as editors, this paper discusses on the base of case studies the question of possible interrelations between the editors and the texts edited by them.
