Smartphone-Detected Physiologic Photoleukocoria With Visible Optic Nerve Details
Elizabeth Ransone, Carolyn May, Evan SilversteinA 13-month-old girl and a 3-year-old boy were referred to pediatric ophthalmology for leukocoria noticed on a smartphone photograph obtained by the family. Ophthalmologic examination revealed visual acuity appropriate for age and normal dilated fundus exams in both children without signs of retinoblastoma or other ocular abnormalities. Further review of the home photographs revealed optic nerve details in the leukocoric eyes.
