Silver‐Catalyzed Coupling‐Cyclization of o ‐Alkenyl Arylisocyanides with Trimethylsilyl Azide:One‐Pot Synthesis of 4,5‐Dihydrotetrazolo[1,5‐ a ]quinazolines

ABSTRACT

A novel silver‐catalyzed coupling‐cyclization reaction of o ‐alkenyl arylisocyanides with two molecules of trimethylsilyl azide has been developed for the first time. The reaction provides a simple and highly efficient method for the synthesis of 4,5‐dihydrotetrazolo[1,5‐ a ]quinazolines by formation of two rings, three C─N bonds and one N─N bond in a single step from easily available acyclic starting materials under mild conditions.
