Hava Salik, Ahmet Salik

ABSTRACT

Aim

This descriptive phenomenological study explored the lived experiences of workplace bullying among female nurses in Türkiye.

Design

A descriptive phenomenological study.

Methods

Between September 2024 and August 2025, online semi‐structured in‐depth interviews were conducted with 16 female nurses working in public, private and university hospitals across different regions of Türkiye.

Results

Four main themes emerged: ‘Mobbing’, ‘Effects of Mobbing’, ‘Coping Methods’ and ‘Suggested Solutions’. Workplace bullying was found to be a multidimensional organisational problem that profoundly impairs nurses’ emotional, physical and professional well‐being.

Conclusion

Workplace bullying is a multidimensional organisational problem that negatively affects nurses’ emotional, physical and professional well‐being. Preventing workplace bullying requires not only individual awareness but also institutional policies with enforcement power and strong managerial support mechanisms.
