Silence‐Embedded Distress: A Case Report Conceptualizing a Culturally Mediated Trauma Phenomenon in Community‐Based Mental Health Practice in Rwanda

Silence‐Embedded Distress (SED) highlights how psychological hardships and trauma in community settings may remain unspoken and undetected by conventional diagnoses. Culturally sensitive, community‐based interventions can facilitate expression and recovery, emphasizing the importance of recognizing non‐verbal and relational manifestations of psychological suffering.
