ABSTRACT

The study presents a computational analysis of momentum and heat transfer characteristics of off‐centered stagnation‐point flow of a tetra‐hybrid Casson nanofluid over a rotating disk. The mathematical model is developed to improve thermal management systems for aerospace engineering, nuclear reactors and high‐performance turbomachinery. The governing coupled system of nonlinear partial differential equations is transformed by similarity transformations and solved numerically using the method. The Taguchi statistical approach is used for optimization of the Nusselt number. The results indicate that the radial velocity is enhanced and the transverse momentum diffusion is suppressed with increasing rotational parameter. Whereas the rise of the Casson parameter results in a reduction of hydrodynamic boundary‐layer thickness. The presence of four nanoparticles, thermal radiation and heat source/sink together increase the temperature of the fluid and enlarge the thermal boundary layer, which improves the thermal transfer. The Taguchi analysis shows that the heat source/sink parameter is the most important parameter affecting the heat transfer, with a contribution of 82.12%, followed by the radiation parameter with 16.13%, and the nanoparticle volume fraction contributes only 1.16%. The maximum Nusselt number value of 6.6463 is achieved at the highest level of radiation and nanoparticle volume fraction.
