Severe verrucous erythema elevatum diutinum responding to a combined therapy with low-dose dapsone and prednisone

A 84-year-old man presented with profuse papular and even verrucous lesions on the knees, hands and face. A skin biopsy led to the diagnosis of erythema elevatum diutinum. Treatment with Dapsone resulted in good regression of the lesions, and corticosteroids combined with low-dose Dapsone maintained the therapeutic response. This combination of treatments is interesting because it is better tolerated; the clinical presentation, which is particularly profuse and verrucous, is also noteworthy.
