Serious games in art and economy

Art and Economy are modeled as “Plays of Value” that irritate each other constantly as the players move in games that follow distinctly different logics. Out of these irritations, innovative reactions in the Arts as well as in the Economy. The essay reviews literature from both the economic and the artistic side. It previews the historical cases selected to demonstrate the effects of artistic innovation on economic growth, and vice versa.
