Self-Healable Anti-Corrosion Coating under High Impacting via Integrating Shear Thinning, Shear Thickening Effects, and Transfer Self-Healing Ability

The preparation of anti-corrosive coatings with durability under impacting still remains a big challenge. In this work, polyureas (BPUB) with the shear hardening effect (SHE) were prepared by introducing B–O dynamic bonds. Besides, the transfer self-healing effect was realized by integrating a bottom fast self-healing coating. The two-layered polymer coating was found to combine fast self-healing toward large-size scratch (∼5 h) and high impact resistance (>20 J/mm). Multi-layered anti-corrosive coating can repair damage by impacting and preserve high impedance (1.32 × 1010 Ω·cm2) after 250 d. The prepared anti-corrosive coating system has high impact resistance, long-term durability, and room temperature autonomous fast self-healing ability, which provides a broad application prospect for impact-resistant anti-corrosive applications.
