SEED PRODUCTIVITY OF CAMPANULA ALLIARIIFOLIA WILLD. WHEN APPLYING PLANT GROWTH REGULATORS
Irina Allayarova, Antonina Reut, Oksana LastochkinaThe aim of the study is to determine the effect of salicylic acid in combination with Bacillus subtilis VKPM and separately on the seed productivity of Campanula alliariifolia grown in cultivation in the Bashkir Cis-Urals. The experiment was conducted in 2021–2022 at the South Ural Botanical Garden-Institute of the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The experimental design consisted of the following variants: 1 – control variant; 2 – inoculation with B. subtilis; 3 – inoculation with B. subtilis in combination with salicylic acid. Inoculation with B. subtilis positively affected the following parameters: fruiting coefficient, the number of generative shoots and seeds per capsule, seed productivity of shoots and plants, capsule height and width, and seed length and width. When treating vegetative B. subtilis plants in combination with salicylic acid, an increase in the thousand-seed weight was observed. A two-way analysis of variance for morphometric parameters revealed that the effect of the "seasonal variability" factor was significant for all studied traits (4.2–78.2 %). The exceptions were capsule width and seed length. The effect of the "different experimental groups" factor was statistically significant for fruiting per shoot, capsule width, and seed length and width (7.2–21.7 %). The combined effect of these factors was statistically significant for seed length (8 %) and capsule height (6.5 %). When assessing the significance of differences between experimental groups using Fisher's exact test, homogeneous clusters were identified with statistically significant differences in seed ripening time, number of generative shoots, seed length and width, thousand-seed weight, seed productivity per shoot, and per plant. A moderate correlation was found between the number of flowers per inflorescence and the number of capsules per shoot, while a weak correlation was found between seed length and width. To improve seed productivity in the studied crop, inoculation of plants with the studied bacterium is recommended.
