Scrotal Ablation for Management of Scrotal Pathology in Bucks (Capra hircus)
Nikita Gupta, Vandana SangwanScrotal ablation is rarely reported in bucks for management of scrotal or testicular conditions. The present case series includes three bucks, two of which were operated for scrotal pus and one for evisceration of the testicle, under local anaesthesia. The scrotal sac was lifted and an elliptical incision was made at the base of the scrotum (~1-1.5” away from the body). The spermatic cord of each testicle was isolated and ligated. Both the testicles were removed and the stump was evaluated for haemorrhage. The subcutaneous tissue was closed using 2–0 polygalactin 910 and the skin was sutured with cross-mattress nylon. Postoperatively, all the bucks were administered antibiotics and analgesics for 5 and 3 days, respectively. All the cases recovered uneventfully.
