Digital Twins (DTs) are increasingly being proposed for urban river management, but their usefulness depends on the information available for specific applications. This study applies the DT methodology developed within the Agenzia del Demanio guidelines prepared by CITERA to approximately 8 km of the urban Tiber River in Rome, under an AUBAC-CITERA research agreement. The objectives concern maintenance of riverbed and bank hydraulic works, hydraulic condition monitoring and hydro-pluviometric monitoring. The application produces approximately 3.2 billion TLS/SLAM points, IFC 4.3 models of sixteen bridges, geospatial contextualisation and a target architecture for federation with the AUBAC’s WebGIS. The estimated reconstructed shares of above-water model surface range from 0% to approximately 50% (unweighted mean, approximately 17%), reflecting construction and access constraints. At Ponte Risorgimento, an extracted section gives a modelled span of 100.28 m and intrados rise of 9.58 m; the latter depends on the reconstructed crown. This links an extractable geometric parameter to a specific verification need before hydraulic use. The IFC inventory and file checks identify further verification requirements. Common georeferencing, bathymetry and exchange testing are integration priorities; monitoring deployment and operational validation remain future work. The contribution supports targeted investigations within the AUBAC’s wider DT programme.
