RUSSIA'S ROLE IN PREVENTING CLIMATE CHANGE AND RELATED NATURAL DISASTERS

Consideration of climate change is one of the key long-term security factors of the Russian Federation, and recognition of the problem of global climate change is one of the priorities of the domestic and foreign policy of the Russian Federation. The article discusses the problem of global warming in detail, provides information on changes in global surface air temperature in Russia and around the world. The features of climatic changes in the territory of country, including in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, are considered. The role of forests in achieving carbon neutrality goals is outlined, as well as the impact of forest fires in climate change. Information about the wooded area of Russia is provided. The forecast data of experts from the United Nations Office for disaster risk reduction on the number of natural disasters by 2030, the magnitude of projected damage from natural disasters by 2050, as well as the UNEP forecast on the growth of forest fires by 2030, 2050 and 2100 are presented. The problem of reducing the activities of the USA in the field of solving the problem of climate change is highlighted.
