Role of neutrophilic extracellular traps in acute pulmonary pathology. Review of literature

D. KUTEPOV, I. PASEChNIK

Acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome remain an urgent problem for intensive care physicians, as they are characterized by a high mortality rate in emergency patients. Currently, the role of neutrophils, and in particular neutrophil extracellular traps, in the pathogenesis of acute lung pathology has been traced. This review focuses on the role of neutrophil extracellular traps in various pathological conditions leading to acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome.
