Rh‐Catalyzed C─H Functionalization/Annulation/Skeletal Editing of Arylamides With Sulfoxonium Ylides: Access to Dihydroisoquinolinones and Benzodiazepinones

Maharana, Subhradeep Kar, Tharmalingam PunniyamurthyRh(III)‐catalyzed redox‐neutral cascade C─H functionalization and annulation of arylamides with sulfoxonium ylides has been accomplished to produce 3,4‐dihydroisoquinolinones, which can be skeletal edited to furnish diazepinone structual frameworks. Substrate scope, functional group diversity, scalability, and late‐stage functionalization of the annulated products are the important practical features.
