Revisiting the cluster initial mass function of the M82 disk Super Star Clusters

Abstract

We revisit the Cluster Initial Mass Function (CIMF) of the M82 disk super star clusters (SSCs), reported in [Cuevas al.(2020)]. We use the dynamical evolution code EMACSS to simulate the evolution of the CIMF, over initial log-normal and power-law mass functions. We find excellent agreement with a CIMF with a shallow slope of α = 1.8.
