Resistance and endurance training adaptations: Competing interests?

Optimal muscle health is characterized by high levels of strength, power, endurance, and metabolic flexibility. To achieve this broad range of capabilities, it seems intuitive that one should combine both endurance and resistance exercises, a strategy commonly referred to as ‘concurrent training’.
