At the beginning of the 21st century, scientists, journalists, and policymakers around the world became increasingly concerned about a reproducibility crisis in research, due to failed attempts to reproduce experimental results in different areas of science. Four key questions related to reproducibility are: (a) “What is reproducibility?” (b) “Why is reproducibility important?” (c) “How can scientists promote reproducibility in their work?” and (d) “What is the relationship between reproducibility, transparency, and research integrity?”
