Replacement nasal thread to implant with extraction technique

Ago Harlim, Dermania Mergiani, Charity Harlim

Objectives:

This article aims to see the result of the extraction and curetation technique combined with an implant to replace the thread lift in the nose.

Material and Methods:

This study is a cohort study with a sample of 30 patients who had undergone nasal thread lifting and planned to undergo rhinoplasty using the extraction technique to remove residual threads and implants.

Results:

The rhinoplasty results were satisfactory, with no complications. Patient evaluation using the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale showed significant differences before and after surgery. The results of the extraction technique combined with implants showed no significant relationship between the duration, number of implanted threads, or fillers in the nose before surgery.

Conclusion:

The combination of thread extraction and nasal implant placement can improve nasal shape, even in cases where fillers and multiple threads have been previously used.
