Renewable Vitrimers

William E. Dyer, Shermin S. Goh

This chapter first introduces renewable feedstocks compared to existing non-renewable feedstocks, then provides an overview of renewable feedstocks available, and finally gives an in-depth review of the most highly cited and significant papers on renewable vitrimers classified according to dynamic covalent chemistry employed. The aim of this chapter is to inform the reader about the potential for renewable feedstocks becoming widespread in the future, the chemistry of these feedstocks, and how they can and have been utilised in the context of vitrimer materials. Due to the huge variety in renewable chemicals explored in the literature this chapter is not an exhaustive list of renewable vitrimers, but rather a selection of influential renewable vitrimer research. We hope the reader finds some insightful information to inform their own curiosity and aid in their design and application of renewable vitrimer materials.
