Abstract

Impacted canines occur quite frequently and may significantly compromise both function and aesthetics. The clinical challenge increases when impactions are associated with odontogenic pathologies such as dentigerous cysts. This article details a unique instance of a 27-year-old man in good health who complained of a growth in the mandibular anterior region for 2 months. Cone-beam computed tomography revealed bilaterally impacted mandibular canines associated with a radiolucent lesion crossing the midline, suggestive of a dentigerous cyst. Surgical management involved complete enucleation of the cystic lesion with extraction of the impacted canines. A dentigerous cyst was identified during histopathological analysis. At postoperative follow-up, the patient demonstrated uneventful healing without signs of infection, delayed repair or recurrence.
