Raft foundations with settlement reducing piles

The limit states, actions and design situations of the code is presented. Design and construction considerations of raft foundations and additional design considerations of raft foundations on rock are discussed. Two approximate methods for the routine design of pile-raft foundation and elastic analysis of pile-raft foundations are presented. An illustrative example for the design of square rigid raft in accordance with the code is included.
