Radiofrequency Wire-Assisted Recanalization of Chronic Iliac Artery In-Stent Occlusion: A Novel Application in a Challenging Case
Anel YakupovichAbstract
Arterial in-stent occlusions can present a significant challenge when standard and advanced techniques fail. Radiofrequency (RF)-assisted recanalization is a safe alternative approach that incorporates an automatic shutoff feature, deactivating the RF wire upon contact with metal. The present case describes successful recanalization of the left common iliac artery stent using an RF wire after previous failed attempts with standard techniques and evaluates the safety of crossing the occlusion while limiting the risk of perforation and injury to adjacent structures.
