Professional Examination Preparation in AACSB Accredited and Member Schools.

Robert W. Lentilhon, Anthony T. Krzystofik

Abstract

This research project surveyed 558 AACSB accredited and member schools to identify current practice and attitudes toward professional examination preparation. It was suspected that there was a wide range of practices, both formal and informal, to assist candidates preparing for certification examinations. The study found that a majority of AACSB accredited and member schools believe professional examination preparation to be a proper function of their institution, and a large number offered some type of CPA examination program, while relatively few offered CMA or CIA examination preparation. This study summarizes some of the findings on the types of programs offered and the attitudes of the schools toward professional examination preparation.
