In the context of carbon neutrality, reducing CO 2 emissions from coal‐fired power plants has become an urgent issue. NH 3 has attracted global attention as a zero‐carbon fuel with a well‐established industrial chain. This study compares the performance of a 125 MW coal‐fired power plant coupling with blue NH 3 or green NH 3 combustion systems. With the help of process simulation, three integrated systems are evaluated in terms of thermal efficiency, economic performance, and environmental performance. The results indicate that the thermal efficiency decreases with the increase of coupling ratio. The green NH 3 system has the smallest efficiency loss and the best CO 2 emission reduction. Blue NH 3 is more economical at the current stage. This study provides a reference for the development of coal‐fired power plant coupled with NH 3 combustion systems.
