PRINCIPLES FOR ENSURING THE EFFICIENCY OF ORGANIZATIONS’ DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES

Georgy Efimov, Bulat Karimov

The article provides a definition of design and engineering activities, refined by the author. According to the proposed approach, design and engineering activities represent a complex of interrelated technical works and the organizational and economic mechanisms that ensure the effectiveness of their implementation, in terms of substantiating and detailing plans for the development of new or improved types of fixed assets, technologies, and finished products, as well as for the design and initial testing of prototype samples of such assets. These activities are aimed at ensuring sustainable growth in the financial and economic efficiency of the activities of design organizations and (or) customers of design work through the maximization of their innovative potential. The main principles of effective implementation of design and engineering activities are identified, such as objectivity, systematic approach, synergy, digitalization, rational organization of risk management in design and engineering work, etc. The factors limiting the effective implementation of the identified principles, typical for the current stage of evolution of the economic system of the Russian Federation, are systematized.
