Primary care physicians’ perspectives on the adoption of large language models in practice: a qualitative study among American and Dutch physicians
Ilse Super, Harinder Bawa, Onur AsanThis study explores the perspectives of primary care physicians towards adopting large language model (LLMs) tools in primary care. We conducted 15 semi-structured interviews and analyzed these through thematic analysis. The findings indicate that there are several considerations regarding LLM use that drive and limit adoption, but that if bridged, they see potential for future helpful use cases. This suggests that education, further development, and clinical workflow integration could bridge the gap between technological advancement and real-world adoption.
