Paving the way toward highly reversible aluminum metal anodes: the core role of ionic liquid electrolyte systems

This review highlights ionic liquid electrolytes for reversible Al anodes and summarizes four strategies—cation–anion engineering, additives, deep eutectic solvents, and gel electrolytes—for safe, low-cost, high-performance Al-ion batteries.
