Pararectal Leiomyosarcoma Following Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy ( TLH ) for Initially Diagnosed Uterine Leiomyoma

Nanna Monjé, Matthias Alexa, Annette Hasenburg, Yaman Degirmenci

ABSTRACT

This case report highlights the diagnostic challenges of clinically distinguishing leiomyomas and leiomyosarcomas and the importance of post‐hysterectomy monitoring. Patients with extensive prior oncological treatments and genetic cancer predisposition require individualized surveillance strategies, as they remain at elevated risk for secondary malignancies that may present in unusual locations or timeframes.
