Yiming Cheng, Jing Song

Abstract

This study utilizes parametric modeling to explore the efficient creation process and technical essentials for serial production of virtual bionic clothing. Firstly, it elaborates on the design methodology of bionic clothing, categorizing and analyzing overall design methodologies and modeling techniques to provide theoretical references for virtual bionic clothing design. Secondly, it analyzes the modeling methods and main processes for creating virtual bionic clothing, classifying major bionic objects, and explaining the corresponding modeling techniques for different types of bionic objects. The analysis shows that parametric modeling, characterized by organic structures, is suitable for creating bionic structures and can quickly generate serialized models, enhancing the efficiency of designing and producing virtual bionic clothing series. Through further practical research, using Blender’s geometry node editing as an example, experiments were conducted on the impact of parameter adjustments on the model’s appearance, confirming the feasibility of using parametric modeling to create serialized virtual bionic clothing. This aims to broaden practical ideas for future virtual bionic clothing design and provide references for such clothing’s design and production.
