P‐6.3: The Causes and Improvement Method of Horizontal Crosstalk in TFT‐LCD

Shichao Lin, Danchun Lian, Nian Zhao, Hua Zhang

In the panel structure of TFT‐LCD products, there is a coupling capacitance between the data line and the common electrode. Affected by the coupling capacitance, the common voltage fluctuates when the voltage of the data line changes instantaneously, and the coupling of positive and negative data voltage signals to the voltage of the common electrode cannot be offset, which results in horizontal crosstalk. In this paper, the causes of horizontal crosstalk phenomenon are analyzed and studied, and the method of horizontal crosstalk improvement which obtained from panel driving scheme is proposed. The method introduces the fluctuation of analog voltage into gamma voltage. So the fluctuation of common electrode voltage caused by the data voltage can be compensated to offset the impact caused by the fluctuation of common electrode voltage. This method has been successfully applied in many UHD models to solve the horizontal crosstalk problem.
