Methods

A hospital based Cross sectional study was conducted.

Results

Finding revealed that 14 of the 44 children(31.8%) who lacked caregiver’s support demonstrated poor adherence to treatment. While 30 children (68.2%) adhered well because of caregivers support.

Conclusions

Caregivers supervision plays a significant role in improving adherence to children living with type 1 Diabetes. Strengthening caregivers education, providing ongoing diabetes Mellitus counseling and promoting family centred diabetes management enhances adherence and improve clinical outcomes.
