Abstract

Introduction

Healthy eating, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, and insulin therapy are fundamental pillars in the management of diabetes in children. Health education in childhood should be tailored to cognitive developmental stages, and play-based strategies are effective tools to enhance understanding and promote behavioral change.

Objectives

To develop an educational memory game for children aged 3–10 years, addressing nutrition, physical activity, and sleep.

Methods

This descriptive study presents the development of educational technology created by four pediatric nutrition specialists. The material includes three domains: nutrition, sleep, and physical activity. It consists of paired cards with illustrations and complementary phrases that form health messages. The activity encourages interaction, reading aloud, and reflection. Content follows current pediatric health recommendations, with illustrations selected digitally and layout developed by an editorial team.

Conclusions

Play-based strategies support engagement and understanding of healthy habits. Further studies are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of this tool in promoting lifestyle changes in children with diabetes.
