ABSTRACT

In response to the challenges of high‐performance and multi‐scenario optical imaging, traditional optical coherence tomography (OCT) methods increasingly struggle to meet on‐site requirements, and novel OCT imaging techniques and application scenarios continue to emerge. This paper reviews advances in OCT, focusing on system architecture optimization, imaging method innovation, and emerging industrial applications. The working principles and key performance parameters of OCT are first outlined. Subsequently, recent advances in core device optimization, novel system architectures, and chip‐level integration indicate that OCT systems are evolving toward multi‐parameter synergistic optimization, high performance, and miniaturization. In addition, advanced approaches including compressed sensing, noise suppression, and image quality enhancement are reviewed. Current trends highlight collaborative optimization of data acquisition and reconstruction, synergistic improvement of multiple performance metrics, and fusion of physical priors with deep learning. Furthermore, applications of OCT in additive manufacturing, energy equipment, pharmaceutical processes, and laser welding demonstrate unique advantages in real‐time, in situ, and non‐contact industrial monitoring. However, challenges remain in signal interference, performance trade‐offs, and real‐time data processing. Finally, future development directions of OCT for industrial inspection are discussed from both hardware and algorithmic perspectives. This review aims to provide a valuable reference for further studies and industrial applications of OCT technology.
