One Sella-Two Tumors: Preoperative Diagnosis of a Pituitary Adenoma–Meningioma Collision Tumor

Although pituitary adenoma and meningioma are two of the common intra-cranial tumors, synchronous occurrence of both these tumors at sella–suprasellar region is extremely uncommon in the absence of previous radiation therapy. Collision tumor is the term described for synchronous occurrence of two different histological neoplasms in the same anatomical site, maintaining clear boundaries without histological mixture or transitional cell populations. Close proximity of these tumors poses significant challenges not only for diagnosis but also for surgical planning. We present a case report of a collision tumor consisting of pituitary adenoma and suprasellar meningioma in a 64-year-old female evaluated for headache.
