Occupational Exposures to Chemicals in STEM Research and Risk for People Who Are Pregnant, Intend to Be Pregnant or Are Chest/Breastfeeding: A Narrative Review for Women in STEM
C. KamaliddinWomen in STEM usually spend their fertile years in a laboratory environment, which leads to exposure to various hazards. In this chapter, I review the different stages of human pregnancy to highlight the corresponding impact of exposure to harmful agents, offer an overview of the available information regarding the risk associated with the major chemicals in biomedical research, and propose avenues for peer support.
