Abstract

Transvaginal small bowel evisceration is an exceedingly rare but potentially life-threatening surgical emergency. Prompt recognition and surgical intervention are crucial to prevent bowel ischemia, necrosis, and sepsis. We present the case of a 47-year-old female with acute small bowel evisceration through a vaginal vault dehiscence 18 months after laparoscopic hysterectomy for cervical adenocarcinoma. A combined laparoscopic and transvaginal approach allowed successful bowel reduction and vault repair without resection.
