Objective kinetic theory for FENE dumbbell suspension

Abstract

The novelty of this work consists in using an objective vorticity tensor to obtain a fully frame invariant form of the classical constitutive equation for FENE dumbbell fluids obtained within the conceptual framework of kinetic theory for polymer solutions. Though we arrive at an objective formulation, in steady shear flow, it gives odd viscosity, which we consider unphysical for the FENE dumbbell suspension.
