Nickel‐Catalyzed C–H Trifluoromethylation of Electron‐Deficient Arenes Under Room Temperature

Herein, we report a nickel‐catalyzed C–H trifluoromethylation of electron‐deficient arenes using Togni’s reagent. This method employs inexpensive Ni(OAc) 2 ·4H 2 O as the catalyst precursor and proceeds at room temperature, affording the trifluoromethylated arenes in moderate‐to‐good yields. Notably, this approach addresses the limitations of previous nickel‐catalyzed C–H trifluoromethylation strategies, which were predominantly effective for electron‐rich arenes.
