Conductive inks belong to the class of inks in which polymers, surfactants, and binders are conductive. Metal-based conductive inks have a wide range of applications for printed purposes. Ni and Co-based conductive inks have emerged as promising materials for various flexible electronic applications, including energy storage devices, sensors, and wearable electronics. This review covers the synthesis methods, applications, challenges, and future perspectives of Ni and Co-based conductive inks. Here, various strategies for the preparation of Ni and Co inks have been explored. Their electrochemical properties, such as high conductivity, capacitance, and stability, for their use in micro-supercapacitors and other energy storage devices have also been highlighted. This review also discusses the challenges associated with Ni and Co-based inks, including ink stability, printability, material performance, and the optimization of rheological properties to achieve high-quality printing patterns. Additionally, it addresses the limitations in scalability, long-term reliability, and environmental factors. Looking ahead, the review article outlines potential solutions to the challenges, such as improved ink formulations, innovative printing techniques, and advanced substrate materials.
