Ni 4 Mo hydrogen evolution electrocatalyst with an oxygen vacancy-enhanced Y-MoO 3− x

A Y-MoO 3−x shell layer is constructed on the surface of Ni 4 Mo alloy. The Y–O–Mo bond energy inhibits the dissolution of Mo species. Meanwhile, the oxygen vacancies can act as Lewis acid sites, accelerating the rate of water molecule dissociation.
