ABSTRACT

Xenidae is one of the major families within the order Strepsiptera. However, studies expanding our knowledge of Xenidae hosts remain scarce, despite their importance. This situation is particularly pronounced in Brazil, given that no new hosts have been reported for some genera for at least 42 years. In this study, we report for the first time in Brazil the genera Zethus Fabricius, 1804 and Mischocyttarus de Saussure, 1853 as hosts of Eupathocera Pierce, 1908 and Xenos Rossi, 1794, respectively, and discuss the reasons for the lack of records regarding these hosts in the country.
