India is hit by Diabetes and its associated micro and macro vascular complications. Among that Diabetic kidney disease is detected by UACR > 30 mg/g of creatinine in random samples and/or eGFR is 60 ml/min/1.73m2 or below. To cut short the expense, we need to design a cheap guiding predictor tool for physicians to use to guide them in which patients to do definitive tests to catch Diabetic kidney disease as soon as possible. The study links NLR and diabetic kidney disease. 1. To estimate NLR in all Diabetic patients. 2. To comp Objectives Of The Study: are NLR in all diabetic patients with nephropathy and without nephropathy. 100 patients visiting outpatient depart Methodology: ment of medicine department, GIMS Gadag were taken into study after consideration of inclusion and exclusion criteria. As per ADA guidelines, one group containing diabetics with nephropathy and another group of diabetic patients without nephropathy will be formed and Neutrophil/Lymphocyte ratio will be calculated in all patients, and statistically analysed using EPI –INF software to check if any statistically significant association between Neutrophil/Lymphocyte ratio and early stages of diabetic nephropathy. Mean NLR in Group A with Diab Results: etics with nephropathy is 3.23 with SD 1.02 and Mean NLR in Group B Diabetics without nephropathy is 1.43 with SD 0.31. The value is high in Group A when compared to Group B. There is a relationship with NLR in Groups A and B which is statistically significant P<0.05. The association of increased Conclusion: NLR in diabetic patients with nephropathy, compared to those without nephropathy, is confirmed; therefore, NLR could be used as a prognostic indicator for the initial phases of diabetic nephropathy.
