Neurology modern service framework can learn lessons from the 2005 national service framework failure

Sue Thomas

Modern service frameworks are a recent initiative from the Government designed to deliver consistent, evidence-based care through system-wide planning, sustainable investment and digital-first approaches. In the first round of frameworks, neurology was omitted, but the neurology community is calling on the Government to develop a framework that will improve support to the 1-in-6 people living with a neurological condition. Sue Thomas outlines why the previous 2005 national service framework for neurology failed and what a modern service framework today needs to include for success.
