NEET-Youth and Labor Market Prospects

The study is devoted to the study of the NEET phenomenon among young people. The relevance is reinforced by the problems of youth employment, one of which is related to the conscious refusal to work. The purpose of the article is to analyze the reasons for the outflow of the younger generation from the category of economically active population and to predict the situation in the regional youth labor market, taking into account current trends and sentiments among future graduates. The concept of "NEET youth" is characterized, and the factors of young people entering this group are described. Theoretical and empirical methods are used: open statistical data, departmental reports, and the results of sociological surveys are analyzed. The article describes the results of our own sociological research of the target group of students on issues of future employment and attitudes towards the position of the NEET group. Taking into account the stigmatization of the topic, the "sealed booklet method" was used, supplemented by a projective technique. Based on the results obtained, the authors predict the future of the youth labor market. Conclusions are drawn about the need to revise the approach to the implementation of career guidance activities among young people. The results and suggestions obtained can become the basis for the development and implementation of preventive measures to reduce the risk of outflow of some of the Sverdlovsk Region's youth into the NEET category.
